The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on May 8, 2002, authorizing the release of additional 50 KM and 100 KM banknotes into circulation. These notes, featuring designs from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, are mandated to bear the 2002 printing year and specific security features including a 1.00 mm non-fluorescent metallic thread. The banknotes were scheduled for circulation starting April 1, 2002, in accordance with inventory and issuance plans managed through the Central Bank's main units and branches.

Pursuant to Article 2, paragraph 3, item h., Article 7, item e., Article 39, and Article 42 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina", No. 1/97),
The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 10th session held on May 8, 2002,
adopts
DECISION
on the issuance, basic features, and circulation of additional quantities of convertible mark banknotes in denominations of 50 KM and 100 KM
The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: the Central Bank) issues and puts into circulation additional quantities of convertible mark banknotes (hereinafter: KM), as legal tender in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in denominations of 50 KM and 100 KM, of the design of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
The banknotes referred to in item 1 of this Decision have basic features and technical characteristics established in all respects by the Decision on the Issuance and Circulation of Convertible Mark Banknotes ("Official Gazette of BiH", No. 10/98), with the exception that all banknotes bear the printing year "2002" which is printed below the signature and the word "Governor" and have a standard simple metallic security thread of 1.00 mm width, 100% cotton, which bears no CBBiH marking and is not fluorescent.
The Governor will inform commercial banks in an appropriate manner regarding the specific security characteristics of the banknotes referred to in item 1 of this Decision.
The banknotes referred to in item 1 of this Decision shall be put into circulation starting from April 1, 2002, in accordance with the cash inventory and the money issuance plan, based on decisions of the Governor, and through the main units and branches of the Central Bank.
This Decision shall be published in the "Official Gazette of BiH", the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", and the "Official Gazette of Republika Srpska".
