Reserve Bank of New Zealand Crisis Management Issues Paper August 2024
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand invites submissions on operationalizing the crisis management framework established by the Deposit Takers Act 2023. The paper seeks feedback on key policy matters including the potential introduction of bail-in resolution tools, updates to existing resolution powers, and new requirements for deposit taker recovery and exit planning. Submissions are due by 22 November 2024 to inform the development of the bank's Statement of Approach to Resolution ahead of the Act's commencement in July 2029.
