Regarding the disbursement of loans for honey farming under agricultural credit.

Dear Sir,

With reference to the 2011-2012 Agriculture/Crop Loan Policy and Tariff issued through our ACID Circular No. 03 dated 28 July 2011 on the subject matter, we draw your attention to Clause 6.13.4, the Crop Production Loan Regulation "Appendix-G" serial number 103, and the Crop Production Register and Loan Repayment Index "Appendix-H" serial number 102.

It has been observed that despite being mentioned in the Agriculture/Crop Loan Policy and Tariff, banks are not disbursing loans in this sector. In areas where honey farming is practiced or has potential, banks must ensure the disbursement of loans in favor of beekeepers in accordance with serial number 103 of the aforementioned loan regulation "Appendix-G". In the case of loans to individuals, banks may disburse loans on the basis of individual guarantees from third parties acceptable to the bank. In the case of group-based loans, banks may disburse loans based on group guarantees and, where necessary, individual third-party guarantees, on the basis of bank-customer relationships.
