Reference is made to the total production target of 71,500 tons and the corresponding loan amount of 13,20,000 (in thousand taka) allocated for the salt season of 2008-2009. It has been decided that the allocated funds will be disbursed to salt cultivators and salt mill owners under the "Bank-Salt" scheme. Banks are instructed to ensure that the loans are utilized for the intended purpose of salt cultivation and processing. Banks must monitor the utilization of these loans and submit periodic reports to the Department of Banking Regulation and Policy Development regarding the disbursement and utilization status. This circular supersedes any previous instructions in this regard.
