Appraisals for Higher-Priced Mortgage Loans Exemption Threshold

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau finalized amendments to adjust the exemption threshold for appraisals on higher-priced mortgage loans. Based on the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, the threshold amount increases from $27,200 to $28,500, effective January 1, 2022. The agencies also updated official interpretations to reflect this new threshold and the methodology for future annual adjustments.
