Amendatory Circular 13/22 to the Single Circular for Insurance and Sureties

This circular modifies Annex 13.2.1 of the Single Circular for Insurance and Sureties to establish the non-business days for 2023 during which insurance institutions and mutual societies may close and suspend operations. The authorized dates include February 6, March 20, April 6 and 7, May 1 and 5, November 2 and 20, and December 25. The modification enters into force the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

AMENDATORY CIRCULAR 13/22 TO THE SINGLE CIRCULAR FOR INSURANCE AND SURETIES

(Annex 13.2.1.)

The National Commission of Insurance and Sureties, based on the provisions of Articles 366, section II, 367, section II, 372, sections VI, XIII and XLII, 373 and 381 of the Law of Insurance and Surety Institutions, and

WHEREAS

That in accordance with the provisions of Articles 195 and 344 of the Law of Insurance and Surety Institutions, the Institutions, as well as the Mutual Insurance Societies, may only close their doors and suspend their operations on the days authorized for such purpose by the National Commission of Insurance and Sureties, through publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation, considering such days as non-business days for the effects of the operations that said institutions and societies are authorized to practice in the terms of their respective authorizations.

That by Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on October 6, 1993, which was reformed by the diverse Presidential Decree published in the same official medium of dissemination on January 27, 2006, the Official Calendar was established in which the historical dates of national commemoration are included which, due to their meaning and importance, are mandatory rest days for the workers of the dependencies and entities of the Federal Public Administration.

That in accordance with the provisions of Article 48 of the Internal Regulations of the National Commission of Insurance and Sureties, the days on which work is suspended in the Commission, or when its offices remain closed, prior notice given, will be considered non-business days for all legal effects.

Based on the foregoing, the National Commission of Insurance and Sureties has resolved to modify the Single Circular for Insurance and Sureties, to read as follows:

(Annex 13.2.1.)

SOLE.- Annex 13.2.1. of the Single Circular for Insurance and Sureties is modified.

TRANSITORY PROVISIONS

SOLE.- This Amendatory Circular shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

The foregoing is made known to you based on Articles 366, section II, 367, section II, 372, sections VI, XIII and XLII, 373 and 381 of the Law of Insurance and Surety Institutions .
