Amending Circular 14/20 of the Single Insurance and Surety Circular
The National Insurance and Sureties Commission updates the General Register of Foreign Reinsurers by adding new registrations, cancellations, and name or location changes for foreign insurance and reinsurance entities operating in Mexico. The amendments cover registrations granted between July 1, 2019, and December 15, 2020, including entries for entities such as ERGO VERSICHERUNG AG., EURASIA INSURANCE COMPANY JSC, and ZURICH INSURANCE COMPANY LTD., alongside cancellations for FINANCIAL ASSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED and SCOR GLOBAL LIFE SE. This circular modifies Annex 34.1.21-b of the Single Insurance and Surety Circular and entered into force the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation on December 28, 2020.

the
provisions
of
articles

and
CONSIDERING
That
in
accordance
with
the
provisions
of
article
107
of
the
Law
of
Insurance
and
Surety
Institutions,
in
concordance
with
Chapter
34.1.
of
the
Single
Insurance
and
Surety
Circular,
it
is
the
competence
of
the
National
Insurance
and
Sureties
Commission
to
maintain
the
General
Register
of
Foreign
Reinsurers
in
which
first-tier
reinsurers
from
abroad
that
meet
solvency
and
stability
requirements
to
carry
out
operations
and
comply
with
the
diversification
of
responsibilities
that
insurance
institutions
and
mutual
insurance
societies
of
the
country
assume
appear;
which
implies
giving
follow-up,
among
others,
to
movements
of
registration,
cancellation,
and
changes
in
the
legal
status
presented
by
such
entities
from
abroad,
with
respect
to
the
list
made
known
through
Annex
34.1.21-a,
contained
in
Amending
Circulars
16/18,
with
its
respective
clarifying
note,
and
20/19,
published
in
the
Official
Gazette
of
the
Federation
on
dates
December
12,
2018,
January
28,
2019,
and
December
26,
2019,
respectively.
That,
in
virtue
of
the
above,
through
Annex
34.1.21-b
of
the
Single
Insurance
and
Surety
Circular,
the
modifications
that
the
General
Register
of
Foreign
Reinsurers
has
had
subsequent
to
the
mentioned
publications
and
start
of
force
are
made
known,
providing
legal
certainty
to
the
ceding
insurance
institutions
and
mutual
societies
authorized
to
operate
within
national
territory.
For
the
foregoing,
the
National
Insurance
and
Sureties
Commission
has
resolved
to
issue
the
following
modification
to
the
Single
Insurance
and
Surety
Circular
in
the
following
terms:
