Amending Circular 17/15 of the Single Insurance and Surety Circular

This circular modifies Annex 13.2.1 of the Single Insurance and Surety Circular to establish the specific dates in 2016 on which insurance institutions, mutual insurance societies, and surety institutions are authorized to close their doors and suspend operations. The designated non-working days include January 1, February 1, March 21, March 24, March 25, May 5, September 16, and November 21. These dates are considered non-working days for the purposes of operations authorized for these entities. The circular entered into force the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation on December 1, 2015.

AMENDING CIRCULAR 17/15 OF THE SINGLE INSURANCE AND SURETY CIRCULAR

(Annex 13.2.1.)

The National Insurance and Surety Commission, based on the provisions of articles 366, fraction II, and 372, fraction VI, of the Law of Insurance and Surety Institutions, and

CONSIDERING

That in accordance with what is established in article 195, in conjunction with article 344, both of the Law of Insurance and Surety Institutions, insurance institutions and mutual insurance societies, as well as surety institutions, may only close their doors and suspend their operations on the days that the National Insurance and Surety Commission authorizes annually, through publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation, considering such days as non-working days for the purposes of the operations that said institutions and societies are authorized to carry out under the terms of their respective authorizations.

For the foregoing, the National Insurance and Surety Commission has resolved to modify the Single Insurance and Surety Circular in the following terms:

SINGLE.- Annex 13.2.1. of the Single Insurance and Surety Circular is modified.

TRANSITORY

SINGLE.- This Amending Circular shall enter into force the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

This is made known to you, based on the provisions of articles 366, fraction II, and 372, fraction VI, of the Law of Insurance and Surety Institutions.
