ASFI Circular Letter DNP CC-2715 2020 of March 24, 2020

Financial Intermediation Entities and Financial Leasing Companies may exceptionally extend payment installment deferment to borrowers whose due dates fell between March 1 and March 14, 2020. This authorization allows institutions to apply the mechanism on a case-by-case basis, supplementing previous measures that covered later dates. The provision operates under the flexibility framework established by Supreme Decree No. 4196 and prior ASFI circulars.

Within the framework of what is established in Paragraph I of the Third Additional Provision of Supreme Decree No. 4196 of March 17, 2020, regarding the flexibility and rescheduling of obligations and the attributions of this Financial System Supervision Authority (ASFI), as well as the determinations provided for in Circular Letters ASFI/DNP/CC-2598/2020 and ASFI/DNP/CC-2633/2020 of March 19 and 20, 2020, and taking into account the requests submitted by Financial Intermediation Entities and Financial Leasing Companies, regarding the extension of the payment installment due period contemplated in numeral 2 of the aforementioned circular letter, it is communicated that based on the analysis they perform on a case-by-case basis, they may additionally consider, for the deferment mechanism on an exceptional basis, borrowers whose payment installment due dates fall between March 1 and March 14, 2020.
