Circular No. 89 of 2022: Cabinet Decision No. 4 of 2021 Regarding the Minimum Wage

Subject: Cabinet Decision No. (4) of 2021 Regarding the Minimum Wage

With reference to the esteemed Cabinet Decision No. (4) of 2021 regarding the minimum wage, we emphasize the necessity for exchangers to comply with the provisions of the attached decision in accordance with regulations, based on the requirement that the monthly salary shall not be less than 1,880 shekels.

Cabinet Decision No. (4) of 2021 Regarding the Minimum Wage in Palestine

The Cabinet, Pursuant to the provisions of the Basic Law amended in 2003 and its amendments, and the provisions of Labor Law No. (7) of 2000, and after reviewing Cabinet Decision No. (46) of 2004 on the charter for forming the Wages Committee, and reviewing Cabinet Decision No. (14/21/01/P.M./S.F.) of 2012, and the decision of the National Wages Committee dated 2021/03/28, and based on the proposal of the Minister of Labor / Chairman of the National Wages Committee, and the powers delegated to us, and in pursuit of the public interest,

The Cabinet decided in its meeting held on 2021/08/23 the following:

(1) Article Approving the minimum wage in all areas of the State of Palestine as follows:

  1. The minimum monthly wage in all areas of the State of Palestine and in all sectors shall be an amount of 1,880 shekels per month.
  2. The minimum wage for casual laborers, particularly those working irregularly on a daily basis, as well as seasonal workers, shall be an amount of 85 shekels per day.
  3. The minimum wage for one hour of work for workers covered by the provisions of paragraph (2) of this Article shall be 10.5 shekels.

(2) Article What is agreed upon in the tripartite committees formed pursuant to the decision of the National Wages Committee shall be considered part of this decision, after its approval by the Cabinet.

(3) Article All provisions conflicting with this decision are hereby repealed.

(4) Article All relevant authorities shall, each within their respective jurisdiction, implement the provisions of this decision. It shall take effect at the beginning of the year 2022 and be published in the Official Gazette.
