Privacy of Consumer Financial Information

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued a final rule to correct an inadvertent deletion in its 2011 amendment to regulation 160.30 regarding the privacy of consumer financial information. This action restores the Detailed Requirements that mandate specific administrative, technical, and physical safeguards for customer records. The rule applies to covered persons including futures commission merchants, swap dealers, and commodity pool operators to ensure compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
