The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Kisii Centre, the eighth CBK outlet, officially opened on October 21, 2020, offering central banking services to commercial banks, county governments, and the general public. The CBK Kisii Centre will commence operations with a "soft launch" on June 7, 2021, providing non-cash services, and duly authorized officers of commercial and microfinance banks in the region are requested to initiate formal preparations and documentation. Kenya Telephone: 2860000, Fax: 340192 June 7, 2021 BANKING CIRCULAR NO. 1 OF 2021 TO ALL CHIEF EXECUTIVES OF COMMERCIAL BANKS (CB) AND MICROFINANCE BANKS (MFB) COMMENCEMENT OF OPERATIONS AT CBK KISII CENTRE As you know, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Kisii Centre was officially opened by His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta on October 21, 2020. The Kisii Centre is the eighth CBK outlet and joins Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, in addition to three Centres in Nyeri, Nakuru and Meru, offering Central Banking services to commercial banks, County Governments and the general public.
We are pleased to inform Commercial Banks (CB) and Micro-Finance Banks (MFB) that the CBK Kisii Centre will commence operations with a "soft launch" from June 7, 2021. No cash services will be available for now but all other non-cash services will be available. In the meantime, duly authorised officers of CB and MFB with branches in Kisii, Nyamira, Homa Bay, Migori, Bomet, Kericho and Narok, are requested to get in touch with CBK to commence the formal preparations and documentations.
