The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) directs all regulated entities, including scheduled banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, money changers, NGOs, and legal professionals, to immediately freeze any accounts belonging to the militant organization 'Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya' and to cease any business relationships with it. This directive is issued pursuant to Sections 15(1)(g) and 20(1)(x) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009, following the Government of Bangladesh's official gazette notification on August 9, 2023, which banned the group's activities due to threats to national security. The instructions are effective immediately.

Regarding the proscription of activities of the militant group/organization 'Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya' in Bangladesh by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Dear Sir,
In view of the fact that the activities of the militant group/organization named 'Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya' are considered a threat to national security, the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has declared its activities prohibited in Bangladesh through a Gazette notification dated 09 August 2023 (copy attached).
Under the authority granted by Section 15(1)(g) of the same Act, you are hereby directed to inform this Unit if any account exists with the prohibited aforementioned group/organization, to freeze it in accordance with Section 20(1)(x) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009, and/or to cease any business relationship with it.
This directive shall take immediate effect.
