The Central Bank of Bolivia amends Article 4 of the Exchange Position Regulation to increase the maximum short exchange position limit for financial intermediation entities from 30% to 40% of accounting equity. This modification applies to the sum of ME, MVDOL, and OME, while maintaining the 60% long position limit and the 10% limit for MNUFV. The amendment enters into force on January 17, 2018.
SUBJECT: ECONOMIC POLICY ADVISORY – APPROVES MODIFICATION TO THE EXCHANGE POSITION REGULATION.

That the Legal Affairs Management, in its Report BCB-GAL-SANO-DLBCI-INF-2018-6 concludes that the proposed modification indicated is legally appropriate, insofar as it does not contravene the current legal framework, being the competence of the BCB Board to consider its approval by two-thirds of the votes of all its members, in accordance with what is provided by subsection o) of article 54 of Law No. 1670 concordant with numeral 29) of article 11 of the BCB Statute.
Article 1.- Modify article 4 of the Exchange Position Regulation according to the following:
Article 4 (Exchange Position Limits)
Financial Intermediation Entities may maintain an exchange position according to the following rules:
a) For the sum of ME, MVDOL, OME, the limits are the following:
b) A long position in MNUFV up to the equivalent of 10% (TEN PERCENT) of the value of accounting equity.

b) A long position in MNUFV up to the equivalent of 10% (TEN PERCENT) of the value of accounting equity.”**
Article 2.- This partial modification of the Exchange Position Regulation will enter into force starting January 17, 2018.
Article 3.- The Presidency and General Management are charged with the execution and compliance of this Resolution.
