BRPD-1 Circular Letter No. 06: Resolving Existing Difficulties of Raw Jute Exporters

The deadline for raw jute exporters to apply for loan rescheduling by paying a 2% down payment on their December 31, 2025 classified loan status is extended to June 30, 2026. This extension addresses the continued inability of borrowers to meet previous requirements due to complications in raw jute exports. All other instructions contained in the referenced circular letters remain unchanged.

  1. Under the aforementioned Memorandum and Circular Letters issued to resolve the existing difficulties of raw jute exporters, the deadline for customers to submit applications to the respective banks for rescheduling of loan/investment accounts by paying a 2% down payment based on the existing loan status as of December 31, 2024, was fixed until December 31, 2025. However, it is learned that due to complications arising from raw jute exports, customers in this sector have not been able to pay the down payment and fulfill other conditions to avail the benefits mentioned in the Circular Letter and submit applications to the respective banks to date.

  2. In this regard, the deadline for submitting applications to the banks for availing rescheduling benefits by paying a 2% down payment on the classified loan status as of December 31, 2025, by raw jute exporters is hereby extended until June 30, 2026. In addition, the other instructions mentioned in the aforementioned Circular Letters shall remain unchanged.

  3. This instruction is issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, and shall take immediate effect.
