BRPD Circular Letter No. 19: Proper implementation of 'Population and Housing census 2022'
The Banking Regulation and Policy Department (BRPD) of Bangladesh Bank directs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to ensure proper implementation of the sixth 'Population and Housing Census 2022' conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) from June 15 to June 21, 2022. Banks are instructed to facilitate participation and data provision by verifying the identity of all citizens and providing necessary assistance to enumerators. This directive is issued under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, to support the realization of the Digital Bangladesh vision through a fully digital census process.

Dear Sir,
Regarding the proper implementation of 'Population and Housing Census 2022'.
In order to implement the commitment of building a Digital Bangladesh, the sixth 'Population and Housing Census 2022' will be conducted nationwide by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) from 15 June 2022 to 21 June 2022, following a ten-year cycle using a fully digital method. For this purpose, the 'Census Reference Point/Time' has been set as 12:00 AM on 14 June 2022. To ensure the successful conduct of the aforementioned census, including the verification of all citizens of the country, and to properly implement this large-scale program, you are hereby instructed to ensure participation and data provision in the census, as well as to provide necessary assistance.
