The Bangladesh Bank reduces the corpus of the Refinance Scheme for Digital Nano Loan from 500 crore BDT to 100 crore BDT and extends the scheme's validity until June 30, 2028. This directive applies to all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh and maintains all other instructions from previous circulars unchanged.

Reference is invited to your attention to BRPD Circular No. 11 dated 02 June 2022, FID Circular Letter No. 02 dated 20 June 2022, and FID Circular Letter No. 01 dated 16 July 2023, regarding the context of the Refinance Scheme established to provide 'Digital Nano Loan' facilities to improve the standard of living of the financially included and vulnerable population.
In order to reduce economic disparity and develop a financially inclusive and sustainable economy, the Bangladesh Bank previously established an interest-free (zero-interest) Refinance Scheme with a corpus of 100 crore Taka for a period of 3 (three) years to provide low-interest/profit Digital Nano Loans/Investments, considering the needs of the benefited and vulnerable population. Subsequently, the corpus of the Refinance Fund was increased to 500 crore Taka. Now, the size of the fund has been redefined at 100 crore Taka.
In order to continue the current Digital Nano Loan program, expand financial inclusion, and habituate and encourage the vulnerable population in digital transactions, the validity of the aforementioned fund has been extended until June 30, 2028.
Furthermore, other instructions mentioned in the aforementioned circulars/circular letters will remain unchanged.
