BRPD Circular Letter No. 22: Waiver from section 14Ka(1) of the Bank-Company Act, 1991
The Bangladesh Bank declares that section 14Ka(1) of the Bank-Company Act, 1991, does not apply to the Bangladesh Police Kalyan Trust regarding its shareholding in Community Bank Bangladesh Limited. This waiver is issued under the powers granted by section 121 of the Act. A copy of the official notification (BRPD(P-3)/745(71)/2018-8334) dated November 1, 2018, is attached for the information and necessary action of all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh.

Subject: Waiver from section 14Ka(1) of the Bank-Company Act, 1991 (as amended up to 2018)
With reference to the above subject, it is informed that the Bangladesh Bank has declared that section 14Ka(1) of the Bank-Company Act, 1991 (as amended up to 2018) shall not apply to the Bangladesh Police Kalyan Trust in respect of its shareholding in Community Bank Bangladesh Limited, under the powers conferred by section 121 of the said Act.
In this regard, a copy of the notification No. BRPD(P-3)/745(71)/2018-8334 issued by the Bangladesh Bank on November 1, 2018, is enclosed herewith for information and necessary action.
