BRPD Circular Letter No. 29: Name change of Janata Bank Limited to Janata Bank PLC
The Bangladesh Bank has officially changed the name of 'Janata Bank Limited' to 'Janata Bank PLC' in the list of scheduled banks, effective from Tuesday, 24 Sraban 1430 (August 8, 2023), pursuant to Section 11K(a) of the Companies Act, 1994. This circular instructs all managing directors and chief executive officers of scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to take necessary action based on the attached notification number BRPD(LS-1)/745(2)/2023-6265 issued on August 8, 2023.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 11K(a) of the Companies Act, 1994, the name of 'Janata Bank Limited' in the list of scheduled banks has been changed to 'Janata Bank PLC' (in English: Janata Bank PLC.) by Bangladesh Bank, effective from Tuesday, 24 Sraban 1430 corresponding to 08 August 2023.
