BRPD Circular Letter No. 48: Regarding fixation of 25 March 2020 as cut-off date for the direct recruitment of candidates in the recruitment circulars publishable up to 31 December 2021

The directive instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to set the maximum age limit for candidates at 25 March 2020 in any direct recruitment advertisements published up to 31 December 2021. This measure applies specifically to banks that were unable to publish recruitment notices due to the COVID-19 situation. The instruction is issued under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, and takes immediate effect.

Dear Sir,

Regarding the fixation of the maximum age limit for candidates at 25 March 2020 in advertisements to be published up to 31 December 2021 for direct recruitment in employment.

Attention is drawn to the letter No. 05.00.0000.170.11.017.20-143 dated 19 August 2021 of the Ministry of Public Administration (enclosed) on the above subject.

  1. It has now been decided to direct all banks that could not publish advertisements for direct recruitment in employment due to the COVID-19 situation to take necessary measures by fixing the maximum age limit for candidates at 25 March 2020 in advertisements to be published up to 31 December 2021.

  2. This instruction is issued under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.

This instruction will take effect immediately.

In this regard, all concerned Ministries/Divisions are requested to direct all institutions, including Ministries/Divisions and their subordinate Departments/Directorates/Offices, and constitutional/autonomous/nationalized institutions, that could not publish advertisements for direct recruitment in various categories of government employment (excluding BCS) due to the COVID-19 situation, to take necessary measures by fixing the maximum age limit for candidates at 25-03-2020 in advertisements to be published up to 31-12-2021.
