BRPD Circular Letter No. 50: Inclusion of BEZA/BEPZA/Hi-Tech Park Industries in Government COVID-19 Stimulus Packages

Dear Sir, Regarding the inclusion of industrial establishments of BEZA/BEPZA/Hi-Tech Park under the financial stimulus packages declared by the Government due to the breakout of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19).

In view of the fact that industrial establishments involved in export trade and overall industries operating in the country have been affected due to the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), it has been decided in this regard to maintain the production and employment of such establishments by enhancing the financial capacity of both domestically owned establishments and foreign-owned establishments alongside domestic establishments. Accordingly, the benefits of financial stimulus packages implemented/in process of implementation by various banks and financial institutions will also be applicable to 'A', 'B' and 'C' type industrial establishments located under the Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority. In this regard, general authorization is hereby given to assess the stimulus as a loan for 'A' type industrial establishments located under BEZA/BEPZA/Hi-Tech Park.

2. In availing benefits under the aforementioned stimulus packages, the instructions contained in all previous circulars/circular letters issued on this subject shall be followed.

3. These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Companies Act, 1991.

4. These instructions shall come into force immediately.
