BRPD Circular Letter No. 54: Determination of the maximum age limit for recruiting employees in bank

Dear Sir,

In the context of determining the maximum age limit for recruitment of employees in banks, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has issued Ordinance No. 11 of 2024, dated 18 November 2024. This ordinance sets the maximum age limit for direct recruitment in government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, statutory government bodies, public non-financial corporations, and self-governing institutions at 32 (thirty-two) years, replacing the previous limit of 30 (thirty) years. The previous limit of 30 (thirty) years has been changed to 32 (thirty-two) years.

2. Accordingly, to maintain consistency with the aforementioned ordinance, you are hereby directed to set the maximum age limit for recruitment of employees in banks at 32 (thirty-two) years, replacing the previous limit of 30 (thirty) years.

3. The instructions provided through BRPD Circular No. 08, dated 23 June 2013, are hereby rescinded. However, actions taken previously under those instructions shall be considered valid.

4. These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, and shall take immediate effect.
