Subject: Change of name of 'Shimanto Bank Limited' to 'Shimanto Bank PLC'.

In this regard, Bangladesh Bank has changed the name of 'Shimanto Bank Limited' to 'Shimanto Bank PLC' (in English: Shimanto Bank PLC) in the list of scheduled banks, effective Monday, 04 December 2023, corresponding to 19 Agrahayan 1430, in accordance with the provisions of Section 11C(c) of the Companies Act, 1994.

A copy of the notification No. BRPD(LS-1)/745(70)/2023-10397 issued on 04 December 2023 is enclosed herewith for your information and necessary action.

Under the powers conferred by Section 37(2)(p) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972 (Presidential Order No. 127 of 1972), Bangladesh Bank has changed the name of 'Shimanto Bank Limited' to 'Shimanto Bank PLC' (in English: Shimanto Bank PLC) in the list of scheduled banks, effective Monday, 04 December 2023, corresponding to 19 Agrahayan 1430.
