BRPD Circular No. 02: Newly Designed Revenue Stamp of 5.00 Denomination

All schedule banks operating in Bangladesh are required to ensure compliance with the Ministry of Finance's memorandum regarding the introduction of a newly designed revenue stamp with a 5.00 denomination. This new stamp is formed by combining existing 1.00 and 4.00 denomination stamps. The existing 1.00 and 4.00 stamps must be withdrawn from circulation and destroyed by April 1, 2009, while the new 5.00 stamp is authorized for use from that same date.

Subject: Introduction of newly designed revenue stamp of 5.00 (five) take denomination.

Reference: Memorandum No. 2-3/2008/283 dated 12/01/2008.

In pursuance of the above reference, the Ministry of Finance has decided to introduce a newly designed revenue stamp of 5.00 (five) take denomination by combining the existing revenue stamps of 1.00 (one) take and 4.00 (four) take denominations. Accordingly, the existing revenue stamps of 1.00 (one) take and 4.00 (four) take denominations shall be withdrawn from circulation and destroyed by 01/04/09. The newly designed revenue stamp of 5.00 (five) take denomination shall be authorized for use from the same date.
