The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) will remove the FFIEC Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (CAT) from its website on August 31, 2025. Because updated government and industry resources now better address fundamental security controls, the FFIEC determined not to update the originally voluntary 2015 tool. FDIC-supervised financial institutions may leverage these updated resources for self-assessment, with further details to be presented during a dedicated banker webinar this fall.
