The Central Bank of Egypt establishes regulations for the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system to enable continuous, real-time settlement of interbank payment orders during working hours. The document defines key terms such as 'Participant,' 'Working Day,' and 'Liquidity,' and mandates that payment orders are executed via immediate debit and credit to participants' current accounts held at the Central Bank. These rules apply to all banks participating in the RTGS system to mitigate credit and liquidity risks.
