Statement of Models of Return Rates on Loans, Facilities, and Discounted Commercial Papers and Return Rates on Deposits, Savings Accounts, and Savings Accounts

In view of Law No. 88 of 2003 concerning the Central Bank of Egypt, and in light of the need to standardize the calculation of return rates on loans and facilities, and to ensure the accuracy of the data reported by banks regarding these rates, the following models are specified:

  • Model No. 6000: To declare the return rates on loans and facilities for the current month, including the average return rate on loans and facilities, and the average return rate on deposits.
  • Model No. 6001: To declare the return rates on loans and facilities for the current month, including the average return rate on loans and facilities, and the average return rate on deposits.
  • Model No. 6002: To declare the return rates on loans and facilities for the current month, including the average return rate on loans and facilities, and the average return rate on deposits.
  1. The models are divided into two main categories:

    • The first category: Models related to the calculation of return rates on loans and facilities.
    • The second category: Models related to the calculation of return rates on deposits and savings accounts.
  2. The models are submitted based on contractual obligations.

  3. The Central Bank of Egypt has issued several circulars regarding the implementation of these models, including Circular No. 19 dated 14/10/2008, which clarifies the methodology for calculating return rates on loans and facilities. Additionally, Circular No. 4 dated 23/08/2005 provides further guidelines on the submission of these models.
