Central Bank of Jordan Circular on Foreign Currency Transactions and Reporting Obligations

The Central Bank of Jordan mandates that all financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses report foreign currency transactions exceeding 10,000 JOD to the Financial Intelligence Center (FIC). The circular requires the implementation of internal controls, customer due diligence, and record-keeping for at least five years to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. It explicitly prohibits the structuring of transactions to evade these reporting thresholds and imposes administrative fines for non-compliance. The regulations apply to banks, financial companies, and other entities designated by the Central Bank.
