Supervisory Relief to Help Financial Institutions and Facilitate Recovery in Areas of Mississippi Affected by Severe Winter Storm

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has issued supervisory relief to financial institutions in designated Mississippi counties following a severe winter storm that caused significant property damage and operational disruptions. Institutions are encouraged to adjust existing loan terms, restructure repayments, and make community development investments without criticism under safe-and-sound banking standards or Community Reinvestment Act guidelines. The FDIC will also grant extensions for income and condition reports, expedite requests for temporary banking facilities, and waive certain publishing requirements to support disaster recovery efforts.
