CIEX No. 03/2026: Reconciliation of Bank and Financial Institution Accounts with the Central Bank of Bolivia

This circular repeals External Circular No. 53/2021 and mandates that banks and financial entities authorized by the ASFI must perform direct daily and closing balance controls of their accounts via the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP). Any discrepancies in balances must be reported to the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) for reconciliation. This requirement applies to all authorized banks and financial entities.

EXTERNAL CIRCULAR La Paz, March 11, 2026 CIEX No. 3/2026 FROM: GENERAL MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT TO: BANKS AND FINANCIAL ENTITIES SUBJECT: RECONCILIATION OF BANK AND FINANCIAL ENTITIES ACCOUNTS WITH THE CENTRAL BANK OF BOLIVIA (BCB)

Gentlemen:

Considering that the information provided by Banks and Financial Entities, regarding Account Reconciliation submitted monthly via Form No. 1720-006 of the BCB, is aligned in the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP); as of this date, External Circular No. 53/2021 of December 30, 2021, is hereby repealed.

Therefore, Banks and Financial Entities authorized by the Supervisory Authority of the Financial System (ASFI) must perform direct control of their daily balances and closing balances of their accounts via the LIP.

In the event of differences in balances, these must be reported to the BCB for respective reconciliation.
