CIEX No. 43/2022: Update of SSL Certificates for Participants in the Deferred Settlement Module (MLD) of the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP)

The Central Bank of Bolivia mandates that all participants in the Deferred Settlement Module (MLD) of the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP) must update their SSL certificates to use TLSv1.2 or higher by September 23, 2022. Entities failing to comply will have their non-compliance reported to the Financial System Supervision Authority (ASFI) for appropriate action. Participants may contact the MLD help desk for assistance regarding this technical requirement.

Gentlemen:

The Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) informs all participants in the Deferred Settlement Module (MLD) of the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP) that the SSL certificates used for their connection to the MLD must be a TLSv1.2 version or higher, as lower versions are considered insecure.

In this regard, entities must update the version of the SSL certificate for connection to the MLD by September 23 of the current year; non-compliance will be reported to the Financial System Supervision Authority (ASFI) for the corresponding actions within the framework of its competencies.
