CIEX No. 44/2020: Reception of Procedures at the BCB Starting September 7, 2020

The Central Bank of Bolivia mandates that public entities, private entities, financial system participants, and the general public must submit procedures digitally via email or the official web portal starting September 7, 2020. Paper-based procedures are accepted only through the Single Correspondence Window during business hours from 08:00 to 15:30, with same-day processing for operation requests submitted within this window. The bank temporarily suspends specific paragraphs of Circulars CIEX No. 8/2020 and CIEX No. 9/2020, while maintaining the validity of other provisions from those circulars and revoking Circular CIEX No. 42/2020.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

In compliance with the provisions established in Supreme Decree No. 4314 of August 27, 2020; Ministerial Resolution No. 347/20; and Communication 49/2020 of August 31, 2020 from the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security; the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) announces that starting September 7, 2020, public entities, private entities, financial system participants, and the general citizenry requiring attention for a procedure by the BCB must comply with the following provisions:

  1. The official email address: tramites@bcb.gob.bo and the WEB portal https://www.bcb.gob.bo/tramites_digitales are enabled as the official contact point and electronic channel for the reception of procedures in digital format.

  2. Procedures in paper format will be received at the BCB through the Single Correspondence Window (VUC); and for procedures in digital format, via the indicated email address and the Web portal, on all business days from 08:00 to 15:30. Procedure requests for operations will be received within this schedule for same-day processing.

  3. Temporarily, paragraph 1 and Annex 1 of External Circulars CIEX No. 8/2020 and CIEX No. 9/2020 of February 28, 2020 are suspended.

  4. Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 of the aforementioned External Circulars remain in force.
