Circular 37/2008 — Modification of Circular 2031/97

Banco de Mexico updates the authorized institutions list for the reciprocal payments and credits agreement with Colombia and Chile by revising sheets A.II.24, A.II.25, A.II.26, and A.II.27. The update adds HSBC Colombia S.A. and Banco Colpatria to the Colombian roster and incorporates Banco Central de Chile and multiple Chilean banks into the Chilean roster. These changes reflect modifications made by the Bank of the Republic of Colombia and the Central Bank of Chile to their respective authorized institution catalogs.

TO THE CREDIT INSTITUTIONS OF THE COUNTRY:

SUBJECT: MODIFICATIONS TO THE OPERATING RULES OF THE RECIPROCAL PAYMENTS AND CREDITS AGREEMENT SIGNED BY THE BANK OF MEXICO AND THE CENTRAL BANKS OF THE OTHER MEMBER COUNTRIES OF THE LATIN AMERICAN INTEGRATION ASSOCIATION (ALADI) AND THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.

The Bank of Mexico, based on Articles 28 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, sixth and seventh paragraphs; 24 of the Bank of Mexico Law; 22 of the Law for Transparency and Ordering of Financial Services; 8th, third and sixth paragraphs; 10; 17, fraction 1; and 20 Bis, fraction XII, which provide for the powers of the Bank of Mexico through the Central Bank Regulations Directorate and the Operational Processing Directorate, to issue provisions, respectively, all of the Internal Regulations of the Bank of Mexico, Single of the Agreement on the Affiliation of the Administrative Units of the Bank of Mexico, fractions I and IV, and with the object of promoting the sound development of the financial system and since the Bank of the Republic of Colombia and the Central Bank of Chile have made modifications to the catalog of institutions authorized to operate under the reciprocal payments and credits agreement signed by the Bank of Mexico and the Central Banks of the other member countries of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) and the Dominican Republic, has resolved to modify the aforementioned Rules made known through Circular 2031/97.

For the foregoing, with this Circular we inform you that sheets number A.II.24 and A.II.27 have been updated.
