Credit institutions are required to submit their Financing and Capital Plans with a reference date of December 31, 2020, to the Bank of Portugal by April 7, 2021. Mod. 99999924/T – 01/14 Subject: Financing and Capital Plan with a reference date of December 31, 2020 Within the scope of its functions, it is the responsibility of the Bank of Portugal to assess risks to financial stability, analyze how the realization of such risks may impact the financial system, and identify instruments that can be used to prevent the realization of these risks and/or mitigate their impact. Financing and Capital Plans are fundamental tools for the Bank of Portugal to fulfill this function, as well as for the fulfillment of the prudential supervision function. In this context, the Bank of Portugal issued Instruction No. 18/2015, which defines the regulatory framework for the preparation of Financing and Capital Plans. This Circular Letter complies with paragraph 9 of the aforementioned Instruction, by disclosing the reporting models for Financing and Capital Plans, the description of the macroeconomic and financial scenario, and other necessary guidelines for the preparation of the exercise and the provision of information by institutions. This information is found in the Annex. The plans must be submitted to the Bank of Portugal by April 7, 2021.
