Circular No. 02/SFA/2009 on Submission of Information on Commissions and Other Charges to the Bank of Mozambique

The Bank of Mozambique requires institutions covered by Notice No. 5/GBM/2009 to submit a complete list of commissions and other charges quarterly via electronic data transmission to a specified address. Reports must be filed within 15 days after the end of the relevant period, with the first report for the last quarter of 2009 due by 15 January 2010. Additionally, these institutions must display the complete list of charges in a clearly visible public location starting from 10 September 2009.

SUPERVISION, SUBSIDIARIES AND AGENCIES CIRCULAR No. 02/SFA/2009 Maputo, 04 September 2009 SUBJECT: SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION RELATING TO COMMISSIONS AND OTHER CHARGES TO THE BANK OF MOZAMBIQUE

In the context of implementing the regime established in Notice No. 5/GBM/2009 of 10 June, regarding the submission to the Bank of Mozambique, in electronic format, of information relating to commissions and other charges levied by institutions, the Bank of Mozambique determines:

  1. The complete list of commissions and other charges levied by institutions, referred to in Article 8 of Notice 5/GBM/2009 of 10 June, must be provided quarterly to the Bank of Mozambique through electronic data transmission to the address https://bsosupp02.bancomoc.mz, in accordance with Annex I of this Circular.

  2. The schedule containing the complete list of commissions and other charges prepared in accordance with Annex I of this Circular will be sent to the Bank of Mozambique on a quarterly basis, within 15 days after the period to which it relates, with the first report, relating to the last quarter of 2009, to be sent by 15 January 2010.

  3. Institutions covered by Notice 5/GBM/2009 of 10 June are obliged, under Article 8 of the same Notice, to display in a clearly visible and easily accessible public location a complete list of commissions and other charges levied, in accordance with Annex I of the aforementioned Notice, starting from 10 September 2009.

  4. Any doubts arising in the interpretation and application of this Circular will be clarified by the Banking Supervision Department.

  5. This Circular enters into force immediately.
