The Palestine Monetary Authority establishes the Sustainable Finance Working Group to coordinate efforts and develop common frameworks for sustainable finance practices. Banks operating in Palestine must appoint one qualified representative and submit their contact details to GF-CCR@pma.ps by April 24, 2025. The Working Group is tasked with integrating ESG principles, harmonizing concepts, and proposing guidelines on climate risk management and sustainable financial products.

Subject: Establishment of the Sustainable Finance Working Group
In line with the Authority's commitment to supporting sustainable finance trends and enhancing sustainability in the financial sector by integrating sustainable finance principles and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards into investment and financing strategies and decisions, and following the issuance of the Authority's Sustainable Finance Roadmap, we look forward to establishing the "Sustainable Finance Working Group" to provide a consultative and coordinating platform for stakeholders in the financial sector in this field.
The Working Group will undertake multiple tasks, most notably achieving integration among efforts and harmonizing concepts related to sustainable finance, finding a common and unified framework for practices and standards in this field, and reviewing and submitting proposals and recommendations regarding frameworks and guidelines to be issued in the field of sustainable finance, such as sustainable finance principles, principles for effective management of climate-related risks, guidelines for the development and design of sustainable financial products and services, and others.
