The Palestine Monetary Authority requires all money changers operating in Palestine to alert cash and remittance staff to exercise heightened caution and verify identity documents when counterfeit personal ID cards are suspected, including cross-referencing with other official documents. Money changers must also take necessary legal action against forgery and counterfeiting crimes and report any detected cases and subsequent measures to the Authority's Market Discipline Department.

Subject: Precautionary Measures
It has been observed recently that some individuals attempted to obtain financial services relying on identity documents that included the use of fake identity cards designed with the same specifications as the identity card, printed and stamped on paper that does not match the approved specifications. Based on the provisions of Decision-Law No. (39) of 2022 concerning the combating of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, the Palestine Monetary Authority urges money changers to ensure the following:
