Circular No. 8/2026: Eid al-Fitr Holiday and Daylight Saving Time

The Palestine Monetary Authority mandates that specialized lending institutions observe the Eid al-Fitr holiday from Thursday, March 19, 2026, through Sunday, March 22, 2026, with operations resuming on Monday, March 23, 2026. Additionally, these institutions must implement Daylight Saving Time starting Saturday, March 28, 2026, by advancing clocks by 60 minutes.

Circular No. (8 / 2026) To all specialized lending institutions operating in Palestine Date: Monday, March 16, 2026

Subject: Eid al-Fitr Holiday and Daylight Saving Time

On the occasion of the arrival of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, we are pleased to extend our sincerest congratulations and best wishes to you, and to all employees of lending institutions, praying to Almighty God that He returns it to our Palestinian people with their wishes fulfilled in establishing the independent Palestinian state with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif. Based on the provisions of Article No. (22) of Decision No. (132) of 2011 regarding the licensing and supervision system for specialized lending institutions and its amendments, and in consultation with the decisions of the esteemed Cabinet, the following has been decided:

  • The Eid al-Fitr holiday begins on the morning of Thursday, March 19, 2026, and ends on the evening of Sunday, March 22, 2026, with lending institutions returning to their official work schedule as of the morning of Monday, March 23, 2026.
  • Daylight Saving Time in Palestine takes effect starting on the morning of Saturday, March 28, 2026, by advancing the clock hands by (60) minutes.
