Circular No. 9/2026: Eid al-Fitr Holiday and Daylight Saving Time

The Palestine Monetary Authority establishes the Eid al-Fitr holiday period for payment service companies from Thursday, March 19, 2026, through Sunday, March 22, 2026, with operations resuming on Monday, March 23, 2026. Additionally, the Authority mandates the implementation of Daylight Saving Time in Palestine starting Saturday, March 28, 2026, requiring a forward adjustment of clocks by 60 minutes.

Circular No. (9 / 2026) To all payment service companies operating in Palestine Date: Monday, March 16, 2026

Subject: Eid al-Fitr Holiday and Daylight Saving Time

On the occasion of the arrival of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, we are pleased to extend our sincerest congratulations and best wishes to you, and to all employees of payment service companies, praying to Almighty God that it returns to our Palestinian people with their wishes fulfilled in establishing the independent Palestinian state with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif. Based on the provisions of Law No. (41) of 2022 concerning National Payments, and in consultation with the decisions of the esteemed Cabinet, the following has been decided:

  • The Eid al-Fitr holiday begins on Thursday morning, March 19, 2026, and ends on Sunday evening, March 22, 2026, with payment service companies returning to their official duties as usual starting Monday morning, March 23, 2026.
  • The implementation of Daylight Saving Time in Palestine begins on Saturday morning, March 28, 2026, by advancing the clock hands by (60) minutes.
