Circular on Security Measures for Banks in the Kingdom

Circular to Banks Operating in the Kingdom

Greetings,

With reference to the meeting held this morning, Monday, corresponding to 16/4/2018, presided over by His Excellency the Minister of Interior, attended by His Excellency the Director General of Public Security, His Excellency the Director General of Gendarmerie Forces, and attended by the President and members of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Banks Association, regarding the measures to be taken to deter attacks or robberies on bank branches operating in the Kingdom and to preserve the security and safety of banks, their employees, and customers, the following has been decided:

1. All banks and their branches must be connected to anti-theft alarm devices with the Command and Control Center and security centers within their jurisdiction, and surveillance cameras at the entrances and exits of bank buildings must be connected to the Command and Control Center / General Security Directorate.
2. Installation of electronic security doors at branch entrances.
3. Provision of guarding for all branches operating in the Kingdom throughout their operating hours.

Coordination regarding the above shall be conducted with the General Security Directorate. The aforementioned measures must be completed within a maximum period of one month from the date of this circular, and a report on the achieved progress must be provided to the Banking Control Department within two weeks from the date of this circular.
