The Central Bank of Tunisia modifies the credit rate ceilings for cereal farming as specified in Annex I of Circular No. 87-47. The new intervention rates in Tunisian dinars per hectare are set at 1,415 (dry) and 1,930 (irrigated) for durum wheat, soft wheat, and legumes; 1,175 (dry) and 1,930 (irrigated) for barley; and 1,030 or 1,260 for winter or summer fodder crops, respectively. These credits carry a maturity date of August 31, except for summer fodder which matures on September 30. Banks must adjust loan amounts based on farm size, expenses, and recent yields, with these rates serving as maximum limits. This circular enters into force upon its publication.

CIRCULAR TO BANKS NO. 2026-7
OBJECT: Revision of the credit rates for cereal farming.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia,
Having regard to Law No. 2016-35 of April 25, 2016, fixing the status of the Central Bank of Tunisia,
Having regard to Law No. 2016-48 of July 11, 2016, relating to banks and financial institutions,
Having regard to Circular No. 87-47 of December 23, 1987, regarding the conditions for granting, controlling, and refinancing credits, as amended and supplemented by subsequent texts,
Having regard to the opinion of the Compliance Control Committee No. 2026-7 dated August 6, 2026, as provided for by Article 42 of Law No. 2016-35 of April 25, 2016, fixing the status of the Central Bank of Tunisia.
Decides:
Article 1 - The provisions of paragraph 'a' relating to the credit rates for cereal farming appearing in Annex I to the aforementioned Circular No. 87-47, concerning the rates and deadlines for seasonal crop credits, are modified as follows:
(1) This rate constitutes a ceiling. The amount of credit disbursed by the bank must be modulated according to the size of the farm, the expenses to be incurred, and the yields achieved during recent campaigns.
Article 2 - This circular enters into force from the date of its publication.
