The Malta Financial Services Authority repeals Banking Rule BR/05 on liquidity requirements and Banking Rule BR/29 Annex I on exposures associated with high risk with immediate effect. The repeal of BR/05 occurs because liquidity requirements for credit institutions are harmonized within the European Union through the Capital Requirements Regulation and related regulations. The repeal of BR/29 Annex I follows the European Banking Authority's repeal of its guidelines specifying high-risk exposure types on 16 May 2025.
