Significant Institutions licensed under the Banking Act and supervised directly by the ECB must upload information, including Fit and Proper Statuses and Changes in Key Personnel, to both the ECB s I Hub portal and the IMAS portal for an interim period. This requirement applies until the back-end system development is completed and live. The obligation is issued by the Malta Financial Services Authority to align with the harmonization of the Hub portal.
Circular Triq l-Imdina, Zone 1 Central Business District, Birkirkara CBD 1010 +356 2144 1155 communications@mfsa.mt www.mfsa.mt Circular to Significant Credit Institutions on Developments in relation to the ECB IMAS Portal The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) is issuing this Circular addressed to Significant Institutions licensed in terms of the Banking Act (Chapter 371 of the Laws of Malta), in order to provide an inform Significant Institutions regarding the harmonization of the Hub portal. The ECB, together with the National Competent Authorities of the participating Member States within the Single Supervisory Mechanism, is currently in the process of streamlining the manner in which information flows between regulators and the banking industry The IMAS portal allows banks directly supervised by the ECB to submit information related to supervisory processes, track their status and exchange information with supervisors. The system development in this respect is currently underway. Consequently, Significant Institutions licensed in terms of the Banking Act, and supervised directly by the ECB, are being required to upload information including but not limited to Fit and Proper Statuses and Changes in Key Personnel on both the ECB s I Hub portal for an interim period until the back-end system development has been completed and is live.
