Licensed entities must assess whether a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) code is applicable, obtain or renew the code where required, and update it in their Corporate Profile via the Licence Holder (LH) Portal. The Authority reminds the financial services industry that maintaining up-to-date and properly maintained data within the LH Portal Corporate Profile remains the responsibility of each licensed entity.

LEI Codes Reference is made to an earlier Circular issued by the MFSA on the topic of LEI codes and subsequent Circulars thereof. The Authority reminds relevant entities that the obligation to (i) assess whether an LEI code is applicable to their entity, and (ii) obtain and/or renew an LEI code, remains on the entity. The MFSA further reminds licence entities of their responsibility to update their LEI codes onto the entities’ Corporate Profile through the LH Portal. Data Quality on the LH Portal – Corporate Profile The MFSA wishes to remind the financial services industry that as part of its ongoing mission to improve efficiency, the Authority continues to carry out improvements and enhancements to its LH Portal, more specifically to the Corporate Profile section. The Authority hereby reminds the industry that it remains the responsibility of the licensed entity to ensure that all the data available on the LH Portal Corporate Profile is up to date and properly maintained.
