The European Commission adopted Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1622 to supplement Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 by defining which countries constitute advanced economies and emerging markets for calculating risk weights on equity and equity repo rate risk factors. Article 1 lists specific jurisdictions, including EU Member States, EEA parties, and countries such as the United States, Japan, and Australia, as advanced economies, while designating all other countries as emerging markets. This classification applies to credit institutions subject to the sensitivities-based method under the alternative standardised approach for market risk. The regulation entered into force on 11 October 2022, twenty days after its publication in the Official Journal.
