Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1634 amending Regulation (EU) 2019/631 on CO2 emission standards for cars and vans
The European Commission amends Regulation (EU) 2019/631 to clarify calculation methods for CO2 emission targets for manufacturers of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, including specific rules for manufacturer pools and derogation targets for 2025-2028. The regulation updates monitoring parameters by adding identifiers for roadload families and type-approval provisions while deleting obsolete NEDC-related data points. It revises the body mass value (B0) used for incomplete base vehicles, setting it at 1.351 for calendar years 2023 to 2034, and adjusts test mass definitions for light commercial vehicles. These amendments enter into force on the twentieth day following publication, with specific data collection provisions applying from 1 January 2024.
