Decision on the Reproduction of Euro Banknotes
The Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro issued this decision to establish detailed conditions governing the reproduction of euro banknotes within its jurisdiction. It defines lawful reproductions based on specific size thresholds, one- or two-sided formats, material differences, and strict digital specifications like mandatory "SPECIMEN" watermarks, while classifying any image likely to be mistaken for genuine currency as unlawful. The regulation also provides a derogation approval process for non-compliant reproductions and imposes fines ranging from 500 to 10,000 euros on economic agents and responsible persons for violations.
