Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 11/5/PBI/2009 Concerning Amendment of Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 3/19/PBI/2001 Concerning Issuance and Circulation of the Year 2001 Banknotes in the 5,000 Denomination

Bank Indonesia issued Regulation Number 11/5/PBI/2009 to amend the specifications for the 5,000 Rupiah banknote, primarily updating the obverse design to include the year of printing and signatures of the Governor and Deputy Governor. The regulation defines the detailed security features, color schemes, and material composition of the note, such as the watermark of Cut Nyak Meutia and the main image of Tuanku Imam Bondjol. Additionally, it explicitly declares that all previously issued 5,000 Rupiah notes remain legal tender unless formally revoked or withdrawn from circulation.
