Whereas the issuance and circulation of Rupiah is addressed to provide cash in society as an instrument of payment (legal tender); b. Whereas to optimalize the function of element on currency in the 5.000 (five thousand) Rupiah denomination as a legal tender in Indonesia, it is deemed necessary to enhance the design of Rupiah currency especially for the signature in bank notes, the placement of year of issue or year of emission, and the year of print; c. Now therefore, based on the considerations referred to in letter a and letter b, it is necessary to amend Bank Indonesia Regulation concerning Issuance and Circulation of the Year 2001 Issue of Banknotes in the 5,000 (five thousand) Rupiah Denomination; In view of: 1. Unofficial Translation Issuance, Circulation, Revocation as Legal Tender, Withdrawal from Circulation, and Destruction of the Rupiah Currency (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 52 of 2004, Supplement to State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4338) as amended by Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 9/10/PBI/2007 (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 113 of 2007, Supplement to State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4762); HAS DECREED To enact : AMANDMENT OF BANK INDONESIA REGULATION NUMBER 3/19/PBI/2001CONCERNING ISSUANCE AND CIRCULATION OF THE YEAR 2001 BANKNOTES IN THE 5,000 (FIVE THOUSAND) DENOMINATION. Article I Some articles in Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 3/19/PBI/2001 concerning issuance and circulation of the year 2001 banknotes in the 5,000 (five thousand) denomination (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 131 of 2001) are amended to read as follows:

1. Article 4 is amended to read as follows: Article 4 The specifications of the currency in the 5,000 (five thousand) rupiah denomination referred to in Article 1 are:
2. Color a. Obverse side is printed in green, violet, pink, light brown and dark brown; b. Reverse side is printed in light brown, violet, dark brown, green, black, and reddish-brown.

1. Main image of Hero of the Independence Struggle Tuanku Imam Bondjol, and underneath, the inscription of “TUANKU IMAM BONDJOL”;
2. To the left of the main image, inscribed horizontally, the number “5000”, a rectoverso image that if held up to the light will reveal a complete logo of Bank Indonesia, rosette-shaped embossing with inkles printed, anti photocopy in form of “RI”, anti photo-reproduction in form of recurring and alternating “BI”, inscription “BANK INDONESIA”, and inscription “LIMA RIBU RUPIAH”;
3. To the right of the main image, a latent image of “BI” logo, visible from a certain angle, the national emblem of the “Garuda Pancasila”, the number “5000” inscribed vertically, year of printing “2009” (number “2009” changes in accordance with year printing), inscription “DEWAN GUBERNUR”, signature of Governor of Bank Indonesia with inscription of “GUBERNUR” (governor) and signature of Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia with inscription of “DEPUTI GUBERNUR” (Deputy Governor), and inscription “PERUM PERCETAKAN UANG RI IMP” and year of issuance or year of emission “2001”;

Material Material used is 100% (one hundred percent) cotton fiber with specification as follows: a. 143 mm length and 65 mm width; b. Cream (yellowish-white) color; c. Does not glow under ultraviolet light; d. Watermark comprising the image of Hero of the Independence Struggle Cut Nyak Meutia; e. Woven security thread made of transparent plastic consisting of black microtext of “BANK INDONESIA”, complete or partially cut, and glows green and yellow in turn under ultraviolet light;
