DCM Circular Letter No. 02: Taking Necessary Steps by the Scheduled Banks for Fake Note Prevention in the Month of Holy Ramadan
The Department of Currency Management of Bangladesh Bank requires all scheduled banks to prevent counterfeit notes during the holy month of Ramadan by displaying videos of genuine banknote security features at specified high-traffic locations in Dhaka and other divisional cities, including Bogura, and on bank branch TV monitors throughout banking hours. Banks must also ensure mandatory note verification using counterfeit detection machines when receiving notes from customers, during note issuance, and before feeding cash into ATMs, in accordance with a directive dated December 11, 2013. The circular provides a schedule of specific banks, locations, and dates for the dissemination of these preventive measures.

Dear Sir,
Regarding the steps taken to prevent fake notes in the holy month of Ramadan.
In order to prevent the misdeeds of note counterfeiting rings during the current month of Ramadan, you are requested to ensure the following steps are taken and inform this department:
(1) Promote the video clip containing the security features of genuine banknotes according to the attached list in Dhaka city and according to the list maintained by the branches of Bangladesh Bank in other divisional cities including Bogura at important gathering places/road intersections;
(2) Display the aforementioned video clip on the TV monitors installed for customer entertainment at your bank branches throughout banking hours;
(3) Carefully receive notes from customers and, in accordance with the instructions of this department's letter dated 11/12/2013, mandatory verification of notes using counterfeit detection machines when receiving and issuing notes, and before feeding money into ATMs.
